Well, I've been in the new city for almost a month now. And I still haven't been able to move into the new apartment. We were supposed to be in it on the first.. but that fell through. So until we move in and we get a land line, I can't find a job. I'm just bumming around a strange place with no friends, since the boyfriend works out of town most of the time.

I didn't come on here to complain though. Just wanted to explain the lack of recent pictures, I suppose. I also have no internet on my personal computer, and as I'm forced to use the library's public computers, I can't put anything new on here. It will just all have to wait until we're finally in our own place. It's been really shitty weather lately too, and I haven't had the chance to take too many pictures anyways. Still just trying to find my way around without getting lost.. or mugged. The usual.

I will put some up as soon as I can though.. and believe me, I'm eager to do so. I just want to get back to my normal routine... as much as you can in a new life.

Yesterday's photo session didn't pan out too well, as the thunder started to rumble and the rain started to drip about 5 minutes after I got on my bike. So I don't have much to show for that effort. Never fear though, for I'm trying again today.

It feels like a black-and-white day today. The sky is grey, the trees are empty and the air is still. Normally I bounce around from effect to effect but I think today I'm going to keep it on one. If I come back with anything I like, I'll put it up. Have to see though. I have so many pictures from the summer.. over 3000, actually, but I put so few up here. I guess I don't like people to see my work that I haven't fully accepted myself. I'll probably be sticking more up as I go along.

Come to think of it, I think I'm feeling pretty black-and-white myself today. It's such blah weather out there and I think it's seeping into my mind.

This is probably going to make me sound like an idiot to the rest of you, but I've spent my morning learning how to do things that are both simple and exciting to me.

My camera didn't exactly come with an instruction manual... well it did, but only the basic one. Not the advanced one. As someone who has no experience whatsoever with cameras, I've spent the past 3 months muddling my way through and teaching myself how to work the thing. I got the hang of things and have been steadily learning more and more. Now that I'm at home though, I've been able to take a look at the downloadable version of the manual. And I now understand how to enjoy the wonderful colour accent setting! I feel so proud of myself haha.

So I think I might go hop in the shower, and then take a wander around town. When I've been in a place for too long.. I tend to forget to really see what's around me because walking past it is second nature. So I'm going to go and look through a camera, because it usually makes me slow down and really look at everything. I'll be back later; I'll let you know how it all turned out.

Well, here I am. At the start of another journal.

I already have a few of these going. One for deep thoughts, one for trivial thoughts, and the list goes on. This one is going to be strictly for photography and related subjects. Hey, if you want to see the other ones, let me know. Maybe I'll pass the addresses on to you... I'm not too secretive with these things.

Anyways, let me give you a rundown on myself. I'm 20 right now, turning 21 in a couple months. Living in northern Ontario at the moment, but moving to my southern counterpart at the end of the month. I'm done school, with two diplomas both in the field of natural resources and the environment. Even with that background though, I'm seriously considering trying to "break into the biz" of being a photographer professionally. That will be quite a ways down the line anyways, because I know squat about the topic right now. I've been saving up for a while now and finally bought myself a decent camera, a Canon S3IS. And I'm absolutely loving it. I'm enrolling in a night course for photography once I get down south and although that won't be starting until January, I'm already looking forward to it. I can't get enough of it... I think I've finally found a full-time passion and hobby. It's only taken me my life so far to get here haha.

So that's what's happening here. I'll be posting stuff often enough, so check back and let me know what you think of my stuff. All comments are good comments; even if they're not easy to hear, I can't improve until I know what to fix. Right?
